Stretch Ideas from a Chiropractor

Seated Twists

Your back often suffers the most pain when sitting for prolonged periods. Seated twists are restorative poses which relieve lower back pain. They help realign your spine when performed equally on both sides.

  1. To perform a seated twist, sit upright with your hands rested on your thighs.
  2. Extend your left leg in front of you. Bend your right knee. Place your right foot next to your left thigh.
  3. Place your right hand behind your back. Sit up tall and gently twist to the right.
  4. Switch sides.

Side Stretch

When your back is sore, your sides are probably tight. This side stretch is top recommended from chiropractors to release pressure.

  1. Stand with your feet hip distance apart.
  2. Extend your arms overhead and connect your palms.
  3. Keeping your hips square, bend to one side. Hold.
  4. Switch sides.

Foot Flexes

  1. Sit on the ground or on a chair. Set your heels on the floor.
  2. Point and flex your feet.
  3. Roll your ankles clockwise and counterclockwise.
